Landscape, light and the everyday.

Following the line of the coast

The easiest walks often begin without a destination. A path follows the water, turns behind a dune and arrives at a place that feels entirely different from where it started.

At the shore, distance is difficult to measure. The horizon holds still while everything close to us changes: the tide, the wind, the colour of the sand. A familiar route becomes a new one if we give it enough time.

The first light of an ordinary morning

There is a short interval before the day gathers speed. Windows brighten. Shadows move across a wall. A cup of coffee cools beside an open notebook.

Nothing in this interval asks to be photographed or remembered, and that may be its best quality. Some details are enough simply to notice.

A path worth repeating

Returning to the same place is a useful habit. It removes the need to find something new and makes room for the small changes that usually go unseen.

A tree loses its last leaves. A puddle holds the whole sky. The walk is the same, but the season has quietly moved on.
